A brief history of Hackney
The name Hackney was first recorded in the twelfth century, and the name was derived from a swamp or island near a River. The region was known as farmland which provided the Roman city of Londinium with yields and food. Early industrialization came looking like water-fuelled factories along the River Lea. The paint business commenced around there; soon later, the lumber business was presented, and the number of inhabitants in the town started to increment. Hackney was home to rich vendors and financial specialists who had immense houses around there. Hackney's first station was the Bishopsgate end which opened in 1840.
